Will Keanu Reeves be considered one of the greatest Sci. Fi. actors of all time?

Accent. Don’t forget the accent.

If you’re talking box office success, I think the sci-fi and fantasy title has to go to Arnold Schwarzenegger:

The Terminator (I, II, and III)
Total Recall
The Sixth Day
Predator
Last Action Hero
Conan the Barbarian
The Running Man
Batman and Robin (shudder)
End of Days

I can understand everything on that list except Conan The Barbarian. Fantasy =! science fiction

The runner up is Will Smith, who deliberately picks sci-fi movies because they have good box office:
Men in Black I and II
Independence Day
I, Robot

To paraphrase a famous quote about Katharine Hepburn:

“Keanu Reeves covers every emotion from A to B.”

He is the absolute worst.

Bruce Willis is up there, too:

Armageddon
The Fifth Element
Twelve Monkeys
Unbreakable
Death Becomes Her (sorta)

And Jeff Goldblum is an even better candidate:

Independence Day
Jurassic Park
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Powder
The Fly
Mister Frost
Earth Girls are Easy
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978 version)

I find disturbing your apparent assumption that Keeanu Reeves must rely on his Sci. Fi. portfolio to obtains industry credibility.

Evidence exhibit A

Evidence exhibit B

Are there any other 2 movies with such socially dramatic impact credited to one individual? Sheeeeeaaah!

Like this Star Wars thing prematurely destroyed Mark Hamill’s career. He was so ready to take off when he suddenly became ensnared in an type-cast trap from which he never escaped.

Can’t you like Johnny Depp instead? He’s pretty, and he can act. Or Brad Pitt? A character actor trapped in a leading man’s body, as someone said, but he’s no slouch either. Even Tom Cruise can surprise you occasionally. But Keanu? What would you talk about afterwards? “Whoa, that was like, awesome.”
