Will the government shut down tonight?

Senate is still debating reconciliation bill, they have to vote on it and Dotard has to sign it.

Like my polls end time, they have until the stroke of midnight to get this done. Will they do it?

(Note: for consideration of ‘what constitutes a shut down?’, I’m going to make it easy and say that the definition is whether the bill is signed at midnight. If not signed, then the government shuts down.)

  • Yes
  • No
  • Wait, what? Why haven’t I heard about this?

Yes. Because the coin landed on heads.

Fudge, I think I timed my poll to CST

Hadn’t heard of this. But they will blame the Democrats if it does shut down.

Probably just the post office shutting down. Who knew people still use it?

My news sources tell me the H.R.3337 has been signed and forwarded to the President. They had already invoked cloture so we knew there was going to be a vote.

(essentially a continuing resolution thru December 11)

Tick-tock, tick-tock. No word or sign of a signature yet. 17 minutes left to go…

The Aye’s have it! Even though the word on the street is that Dotard will sign the bill tomorrow and the govt isn’t ‘really’ shut down, for the definition set out by the OP… a signed bill by midnight… those of us who never lost faith in the inability of the GOP to do even the most mundane of things, like get a piece of paper signed, were richly rewarded.

So, this is what… the 4th time the government has run out of money under Trump? :upside_down_face:

Received e-mail this a.m. of signed continuing resolution until 12/11.

Best I can find is ‘early Thursday morning’, which is definitely NOT September 30th.
