BTW, SmilinJack, if you seriously want to argue for the justice of slavery or the justice of the Confederate cause or the evil of Lincoln, that’s too far afield from the Elections forum (all modern American elections proceeding more or less on the assumption that all those are long-settled issues, and that won’t change in your lifetime or mine or your grandchildrens’); those are really Great Debates topics.
