I would really like to see Martin Short as Willy Wonka, but I’m going to give JD the benefit of the doubt since he did great works with Tim Burton/Danny Elfman before.
I just wanted to add that I saw Gene Wilder on Conan the other night, and man, I did not realize how old he was. The way Conan was talking with him, it was like Wilder’s whole career was Willy Wonka and Young Frankenstein.
I just want to add that Depp is just creepy in those shots.
Oh, and if Burton is adhering as closely as possible to the book, does that mean the Oompa-Loompas are back to being pygmies?
