I have a great idea for a new gimmick to get people back into movie theater.
Over the decades, there have been various gimmicks over the years to enhance the “you are there” experiences in movies. These include:[ul][li]Sensurround (low frequency vibrations for earthquakes or rollercoaster rumbles)[/li][li]Smell-a-rama (color-coded scratch-n-sniff pads that convey the smells of the scene you’re watching)[/li][li]3-D (with the stereoscopic glasses)[/li][li]Fog and lasers (used in Disney’s Captain EO)[/li][li]Full-tilt-motion simulator seats[/ul][/li]And now, Tracer Enterprises could bring you:
WIND-A-RAMA!
The theater owners set up blower fans on all 4 walls of the theater. In addition to the sound track, the film now has a “breeze track” that controls the speeds of these fans. When the film shows us a driver’s-eye view of racing down a speedway on a motorcycle, the front fans go on full force. When the film shows a lazy summer day in the park, with the leaves blowing gently, the fans on the left go on at a very low speed. When a fast-moving villain rushes past the protagonists, the rear fans go on full force for a brief instant.
Now tell me that wouldn’t be the greatest thing since sliced bread!
