Windows 10 Recycle Bin noise

Ever since installing Windows 10, my Recycle Bin no longer makes a noise when I empty it. How do I get that “ka-schwuff” sound back?

Turn on your speakers?

Just guessing at one possibility. I’m betting its highly likely you didn’t make that mistake. Go to the settings icon (cog), and in the box, type ‘sounds’. That’ll open the dialog for windows sounds. Try and see what’s missing, or if anything works.

I like that sound as well. It’s off by default in the base windows sound scheme. easy to turn back on though.

Open start menu
type ‘change system sounds’ and click the item that appears
in the toolbar that pops up, there is the list menu entitled ‘Program events’
scroll down about 2/3rd’s of the way
under the subheading ‘file explorer’ there should be an item called ‘empty recycle bin’. it won’t have a little speaker next to it.
click on it once so it is selected, and then in the drop own menu at the bottom of the toolbar (titled Sounds) select “windows recycle”
Click Apply, and then you are done!

Along that same line of thought, if I had an electric car, I’d like it to have a sound-track of a horse-drawn buggy. That way, blind people would be less likely to walk out in front of my otherwise quiet car.

What’s this?
