She does the facebook thing to the max and her laptop is dying.

I have a Windows 7 laptop and a Macbook Air. Facebook looks the same on both - apart from the screen size on the MBA.
The web page itself will not look significantly different.
However, someone who is used to Internet Explorer will have to switch to another browser and that might be an adjustment. If she’s already using a non-IE browser, then there shouldn’t be any major cross-platform differences.
