Windows: NTFS: Disk Compression Supported on 8K+ Cluster Sizes?

I ran across the below link:
http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/file/ntfs/impl_Part.htm

With the interesting quote,
“Compression is not supported on file systems with cluster sizes over 4 kiB. Since most people like this feature, the setup and formatting programs in newer Windows operating systems will not choose a cluster size over 4 kiB in size.”

Does anyone know if this is true with newer versions of Windows?

Yup, that still holds for Windows XP as well as Windows Server 2003. I’m not sure about Server 2008 and Vista/Windows 7, but nothing I’ve seen suggests that this has been changed.

Thank you.
