Tomorrow night, Mr. Tech and I will be dining at a fabulous restaurant that specializes in Persian and other Middle Eastern fare. In addition to it’s wonderful cuisine, the restaurant has a BYOB policy. Fun!
What wine would you suggest? I’m thinking a dry soave.
Doesn’t the middle east in general have a sort of no-alcohol policy? So, I can’t reccomend any traditional wines of the area.
PULL-EEEZE! Islam forbids vino.
Not entirely so. Several Moroccan resturaunts that I’ve visited have served EXCELLENT honey-wine. If you plan on doing any Middle-Eastern or Ethiopoan dining, go with the honey-wine.
Pinot Noir if you’re going to eat poultry or meat.
I’ve decided to go with the Pinot Noir. It’s a safe bet.
Oh, and it’s not like I’m going boozing in a mosque, people!
Anything but Manischewitz. You’ll be dropping suicide bombs for a week.

Why don’t you try and find some good Lebanese wine? There are many varieties now available.
Go with mint tea (chinese gunpowder tea, served with mint leaves) if you want something non-alcoholic.
