There, I said it.
Long live hair metal.

Long live hair metal.
And now the world knows just how much to trust your judgement. Thanks.
Have fun with this thread.
(Although Rod Morganstern could mop the floor with Lars Ulrich - such a better drummer it’s not even close). Otherwise, on so many levels, the OP is profoundly wrong. Kinda funny from a Beavis and Butthead perspective.
Also hard to deal with the OP username as a source for this assertion. ![]()
Every time I hear the name Winger I think of Stewart from Beavis and Butthead and not being a hair metal guy that’s really all I know of them.
I was popping in to say this very thing Morgenstern is a great drummer.
The fuck is Winger ?
Motorhead > Metallica > Kix > Winger
In terms of musical ability, and for that matter any songs they’ve done in the last 20 years, yes Winger are better.
They’ve never done anything that’s approached Metallica’s good stuff from the 80s though.
Winger at the height of their career in the early nineties, then Kurt Cobain came a long … bye bye cock rock exit left. Thanks Kurt.
There, I said it.
Winger are still going, I’ve not heard anything new from Nirvana in a while…
Career longevity is not the measure of the quality of rock, else Wee Willie Harris would be the greatest of all time.
- YouTube He is still going.
Nirvana dead cuts it better than Winger ever has done.
Winger…hmm, I liked Madaeline and Incognito.
Great players, subpar music/lyrics.
Skid Row on the otherhand.
Winger< other hair band acts Ratt, Cinderella, Dokken, ect…
Not even Winger believes that.
Rod Morganstern is a great drummer. How he went from the Dregs to Winger is a mystery.
You get a wedgie for knowing who Kix is and referring to them in a thread.

Follow the money.

With kudos to Deep Throat.
While I don’t dislike Kix, I think there were considerably greater hair metal bands out there–including Winger.
Winger, no. Mötley Crüe, yes. And autocorrect knew to put the umlauts in. Crazy.
While I am not a huge Winger fan, Reb Beech is a hell of a guitarist/ And Winger himself is a pretty good bassist and actually wrote some classical stuff that has been performed by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and was turned into a ballet. (Seriously)
On a side note, I was hanging out at a coffee shop one night when Rod Morgenstern came in with some other guys. I freaked a bit then went over and introduced myself and told Rod I dug his work. I kept it short but I noticed the rest of the guys at the table were looking at me strangely.
The next day I was in the music store and saw a poster. The poster was Winger and I realized that Rod was sitting with the rest of the band. I totally ignored Kip Winger and the rest 'cause I didn’t recognize them. I imagine that didn’t happen often at that time as this was when Winger was at their peak.
However, Metallica >>>>>>>>Winger. Though Rod smokes Lars. And Reb beats Kirk like a little girl and makes him call him Daddy.
