Well, G.Nome, I like your idea, but remember, the Chinese place a very high value on “face” and “saving face”. Westerners, generally, don’t. I mean, scum that are committing the crimes aren’t exactly Mr(s). Keeping Up My Reputation. For some, a life of free food and nothing to do all day would be a dream world.

I, personally, still like the idea of the making them bust rocks in a quarry. Back breaking, stultifying labor. No TV, no gym, no radio.

Sorry, Protesilaus, but it was in a compilation book I read last year and I don’t remember the author, story title, or even the name of the compilation. The most I remember about it was that it was a themed compilation. So much for my memory for details. :frowning: I try to head over to the library and see if I can find the book in the stacks again.
