Winner of the mother of the year award

Hard to argue with that. Horrifying.

The most infamous FL child services case was of Rilya Wilson, whose caretaker claimed that DFS officials had taken her away and “lost” her. Be aware that this woman has recently been charged in her death, and is believed to have made up the story.

I agree with Mistee . This needs to be repeated.

So what kind of car is it? We could figure out the going rate on children . . .

Sorry. These threads just wear out the part of my brain responsible for abject horror.

A good friend of mine is a foster mother for extreme cases – kids with retardation, cerebral palsy, medical issues like needing a feeding tube, and abused children. (Her current kid is an adorable little two-year-old who came to her with old or fresh breaks in all four limbs. He’s healed, thriving, and with luck will be adopted by her daughter.)

One boy she took in as a three-year-old had been rented out by his mother an unknown number of times to men to be buggered. My friend did a great job, with the help of state-supplied therapists, to rebuild his trust. Her other daughter started the process to adopt the boy. Then the judge in charge of the case decided he should be reunited with his mother.

Initially it was short supervised visits, from which the boy came back wildly acting out. The bitch eventually got him back for a short while, then he was removed from her again, this time permanently, and my friend’s daughter was finally able to adopt him. Of course, by this time the trust he’d developed in his new family had been smashed to bits.

I’m happy to say, several years later, that with a lot of hard work by my friend and her family, the boy’s doing well now. But sadly, he’s one of the lucky ones.
