I’ve been trying to see if some archive of the temp board still exists. wulfstu’s thread includes a link to a capture of the temp board on June 4, 2002, of the last day it was open for new posts. It includes a few threads started as early as February 28 2002.
I posted a question ‘The Strange Case of William McKinley,’ which was lost. I reposted it here a couple of years later. Although, now as I re-read it, I suspect that even in this day and age, with that kind of damage, he would have been in critical condition and possibly might not have survived.
There was another, much shorter, time period that the boards reset on themselves too. It was after I was a member…so I seem to remember it being around 2004 or 2005.
I remember, at the time, since there was a two or three day period where NONE of the posts we were making during that time would show up on the new boards, that they suspended all Pit rules for those three days.
Anyone else remember that one? It was like a free-for-all in the Pit during that time. You could break any rule you wanted, make any post or topic you wanted, you could do anything in the Pit during those three days. Also it was before the “No saying “fuck you” or any variant” rules, so those things were still allowed naturally, anyway.
Thank you. You’re so good at that stuff. So informative and smart and you have a good memory. I can see why they made you a mod. I think I’ll keep you on.
