My car is equipped with an auxiliary audio input which I can plug a ‘mini-jack’ (i think thats what its called, its the spec headphones use) into. What I would like to do is send music to that jack wirelessly with a laptop or ipod. Is there anything on the market (or set of components I could buy) that would enable me to stream the music to a receiver connected to that aux-input? I’d be willing to spend $1000 to accomplish this if necessary.
Since that input jack accepts analog signals only as input (not high quality digital input) you might as well use something like the i-trip for your ipod. Still a decent quality signal using the FM receiver on your car deck.
Too much money burning a hole in your pocket?
Why don’t you get a connector cable (like this one) and just hook your ipod direct?
(no don’t use or endorse Monster cables, it was just the first thing that came up)
I have an i-pod connector, but I just think it would be more fun to be able to stream my music the same way I do with my cell, i.e. when i get into the car, my calls go directly to the lcd without any fuss, muss or hassle, likewise, if I found a high-fidelity streaming solution, i could continue listening to my ipod without removing my ipod from my jacket, putting it in the center console and connecting the wire.
