Wireless printer opinions wanted.

I’m considering a wireless mobile printer for when we do our RV-for-a-year thing next year. I’m looking hard at the Canon Pixma iP100, but would like opinions from Dopers who own it or a similar setup.

What do you want the printer to do? NB you may find it better to have more than one.

Not sure I understand the question. I just want it to print documents, maybe the occasional photo.

Okay, you want to print documents and photos. This means that you need a colour printer for the photos. Occasional photos makes me lean towards a colour inkjet for that - for bulk printing go to a shop. How much document printing are you going to do? Pages per month, that is.

I think the choice between an inkjet and a laser printer should probably also depend on how often you intend to use the printer. If you go long enough, the ink will dry out of the inkjet and you’ll be out however much the cartridges cost.

Keep in mind that this will be for a motorhome use. That’s why I’m looking for opinions on a make/model of mobile printer, preferably with wireless capability. Printing will probably consist of word docs from the net for areas we’ll be visiting, so I wouldn’t think it would be a lot. I’m thinking inkjet, but the HP mobile printers haven’t gotten very good reviews. I trust Dopers more than industry reviews, though.

I have a Canon Pixma iP6310D and am very happy with it. It has a larger footprint than the iP100, but it’s still pretty small.

Epson has a new printer known as the Workforce 600, that is wireless.

Should be appearing in the next day or two in a Staples/Office Max/Office Depot/Best Buy near you. 199.99
