I had a job interview today with a place in Burlington, Wisconsin. Had to go look it up on a map, and it looks like a small town about 30 miles SW of Milwaukee. They’re definitely interested in me.
Does anyone here know much about that area? Cost of housing? Entertainment (like movie theaters)? I’m a single male, so I’m not so sure if living in a town that small will be to my liking or not.
It’s close enough to Milwaukee to consider that your urban playground. Probably only 2 hours from downtown Chicago, too.
What Qadgop said. I live in central WI, about 40 miles from several large cities and about 70 miles from Madison. So if we want “city time,” we just plan ahead. Sometimes it’s a pain to have to drive an hour to go to a movie or eat ethnic food or do any kind of decent shopping. On the other hand, our house payment is $188/mo. We could never afford to live in the city, but this way we can still enjoy its amenities.
You’re also not too far from Racine, Kenosha, Janesville, and Madison, all of which have some pretty cool stuff.
