None yet but I am ever on the alert for some sort of tell-tale give away like someone using the term “felch” or saying “Thank Og”.
At that point I’m thinking this stranger and I would exchange a sideward glance and a knowing nod and then merely go about our business.
I mean there’s not some sort of secret handshake that I’ve been unaware of lo these many years, right?
I’ve met a few at Dopefests and know JoseB from a different setting; we’ve met several times, both in meetings related to that other setting and one-on-one (and it ain’t my fault he tried to catch his death on the way home).
I met my best friend here, and am friends with eight or so other dopers. We don’t see each other as much these days due to kids etc, but we used to hang out a lot and are still friends. I’ve been to two Doper weddings (both partners in each were members) and have two more coming up where one was/is a Doper. Plus a couple of less-close friends and a few acquaintes.
We tried, but it was really hard to come up with a gesture that was recognizably a plane on a treadmill.
I know a couple but do not know thier dope identities. Another I do know his identitiy. I have met a few others who are casual users of the dope but rarely post.
I’ve met a handful of Dopers. There are a couple of friends still on my LJ (yes I still update it - get off my damn lawn) and some whom I still maintain friendships with over e-mail. I never see any of them though.
Thanks to Seattle Doper Trivia, I’m part of a regular Doper crowd. If we all showed up at trivia at the same time, I think there would be 8 of us. I’m also friends with the guy who introduced me to the Dope, but he’s no longer active.
One that I know of. My wife’s cousin recognized me in the crowd. Told me about it IRL, and we now know each others’ secret indentities. Kind of like Batman and Superman, or the Justice League Of America. The Ignorance Fighting League Of The Pacific Northwest, if you will.
I don’t know anyone, but Rhiannon, I’m in the same city as you, so that could be changed.

None. There are a few Dopers I wouldn’t mind meeting, but y’all are a spread out bunch. There’s a couple in my neighborhood (Greater Cleveland) but I’ve always managed to be out of town when a get-together was in the works.
