with no tv, how do i see/hear the state of the union address?

just out of curiosity, does anyone know if presidential/political speeches, sessions of congress, etc., are simulcast on radio or the internet? we are entering our second month without tv. news and weather we can get online, entertainment from books and occasional videos, but events like this are different. when switching to a tv-free lifestyle, i forgot that i do like to see/hear important speeches and other such events in their entirety.

any suggestions? thanks.

It will be on any of the news radio stations. You’ll most likely be able to hear it on your local NPR affiliate too.

Are you in the United States? Try your local public radio station or National Public Radio’s Web site.

Try NPR. They should broadcast it.

I’ll tape it for you tonight, even though the greedy bastard is just using it as a kickoff for his campaign. It is just gonna be so much BS! --He’s campaigning for GW…not the Union. Lemmesee…he’s going to say how well the war in Iraq is going…how he has singlehandedly put an end to Saddam Hussein, how well the economy is doing, etc…
You know how to get a hold of me, if you want the tape. You can screen it here or at your Mom’s, I guess

How ya doin’ Ggurl? Hope all is well.
Peace

Gosh, any time someone brings up a politician GQ just goes straight to hell!

In any case, try the George Bush website, or White House website, or even the Republican Party website. I got the transcript in my email this morning from one of those – I think the Bush campaign. So it’s out there somewhere.

devilsknew’s in trouu-ble! hey - finally a thread in which i can reply to you. but i guess political opinions go elsewhere… ?!?

hey, thanks for the offer - i was just curious i guess what would be said about our state of the union. i am so sheltered in our own personal 1970’s-style recession that i wondered how the rest of the country was doing.

vaya con dios devilsknew!

Sorry, for my 2 cents…cynical is all I can be when the “State of the Union” is interpreted by the campaigning Republican incumbent, admittedly trying to draw attention away from the Democratic campaign.
I taped it for you, as well as local coverage of his next day, Owen’s visit/panel discussion. I think you really must see and hear the speech (as well as congressional and audience reaction.) for full effect.
Did you know there is a “Nucular” threat - that’s what GW claims in the speech.
You are forewarned, potect those cells people!
