Because apparently, in the last 2 or 3 years, “steronz” has come to be a synonym, euphemism, or clever misspelling of “steroids” on some body building forums. Why, I don’t know. This has been my username for very nearly 20 years now, since the AOL days, when I randomly chose a string of characters because everything else was taken. For my entire juvenile and adult life, I’ve been able to register as “steronz” on every forum/website/service without fear of it being taken, because it means nothing and, frankly, sounds stupid.
Which, I guess, is why roided out jocks have stolen it. This has been my identity for nearly 60% of the time I’ve spent on this planet; it was my college nickname for a while. And now, people will start associating it with tiny rage-filled testicles.
Oy.
