No idea. With a name like “Jacob Wetterling”, I expected some kind of German or Austrian philosopher. I’m in Canada.
No clue. 27 years old, southwest Virginia.
SE Michigan. No idea.
Chicago. No.
But I don’t expect Minnesotans to know who Tionda and Diamond Bradley are either.
Yes. I grew up in northeast Iowa.
140 to 9. I think you’ve got your answer.
No. Lived all my life in N. California.
No idea (I’m in the UK).
Only time I’ve heard the surname is referencing a popular Swedish axe manufacturer.
Nope. Northwest Arkansas. But I also never remember the names of these people who are abducted or killed. Jon Benet Ramsey is probably the last one I can still recall, unless you for some reason count Baby Jessica.
No, UK.
Yes.
I was born in 1983 and grew up an hour away from where he was abducted. I’m pretty sure his mom spoke at my elementary school once.
Yup, grew up in Brooklyn Park and remember going down 169 and seeing a larger poster with a picture of him on it for the longest time.
His mom ran (and lost) against Michele Bachmann.
I live in Minnesota now, lived in Wisconsin growing up. Of course I’ve heard of him - I think he’d be my brother’s age, actually. And it’s truly too bad that his mom didn’t defeat batshit crazy Bachman when she ran against her. Not sure that Patty Wetterling woulda been a great Congresscritter, but way better than the alternative.
Holy cats. Totally wrong on the age - turns out, Wetterling is a year-and-a-half younger than I am, and is my husband’s age instead. Huh.
Remembered that he was abducted in '89, though.
It didn’t reach here, or at least I hadn’t heard of the case. Kentucky.
Not to stray too far from the OP, but have any of you heard of Ann Gotlib? That was a huge abduction case from early 1980s, and according to the wiki page, had a major impact on how child-abduction cases are handled:
Never heard of him. I’m in Oklahoma.
Ireland, and I’ve never heard of him
Should I have?
Northern midwest and yes.
I knew the name instantly, but it took a while to remember why. But I grew up in South Dakota and was 13 when he was abducted so I don’t expand the area of knowledge much.
