Without Googling, do you know who I'm talking about?

Yup, but I was going to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities at the time. It was everywhere in the news. Still haunts me - such a horrible thing, and they didn’t find him even though the family did everything they could. Ugh.

No. Lived in Oklahoma in the 80’s and California now.

No. Resident of the Carolinas all my life.

Also, when I’ve played that “name game” (if it’s the one I’m thinking of), I’ve called it Botticelli.

Florida, never heard of him, even with your spoilered hint it rings no bells.

Never heard of him. Lived in California all my life.

Doesn’t sound the same at all. Ours is pretty simple. One starts by saying, for example, Christopher Reeve. Then the next person says, you know, “Richard Gere” or something. Next person: Gina Torres. Then Terry Bradshaw, Brittany Spears, Sally Field, Freddie Mercury, etc.

If one gets stuck on a letter we’ll give each other hints, which is really the funny part. Last time he got stuck on B (because I’ve declared that “Boris Yeltsin” is no longer allowed) I started singing “Wind Beneath My Wings” and he looked at me like I’m insane and said “WTF is that supposed to mean?” Apparently he’s never seen Beaches…

Gotcha.

Yes, I’m from the VA area. The only reason I know though is I was reading about Michelle Bachmann on Wikipedia, which led me to Patty Wetterling’s page.

New York City, never heard of him.

Never heard of him.

I do, however, remember Etan Patz. I’m a year younger, and we were living a few blocks away when he disappeared. Let’s just say that my parents never let me walk to the school bus by myself after that for as long as we lived in New York.
