OK, fine. You’re probably right. (I’m going to pretend that I’ve never heard of the Internet for the moment.)
But was Dern 26 or 34? (I’m trying to make this topic as exciting as it could possibly be.)
She’s only a couple of years older than me, but has always had that mature ageless look that makes her hard to pin down in age. It’s also consistently surprising to me how long ago Jurassic Park came out (almost 20 years).
Then turn it into one of those annoying math problems where so-n-so is twice as old as one third the age of he old guy minus the ages of the kid and …
She looked in her late 20’s in Wild At Heart, and that one was, what? five years before JP? She looks late 40’s to mid 50’s now, so I’m gonna say 35.
I thought she was much older, honestly. I was surprised to find out she’s only in her mid-forties now.
So, how about this one: how old do you think Anne Hathaway was in her debut film “The Princess Diaries”? I sure thought she was
older, about the age she is now.

I think she was quite young when she was nominated for an Oscar for Rambling Rose, so I’m going to say 24.

I just watched “Everything Must Go,” in which Laura Dern has a small role. She looks much older than Will Ferrell even thought they’re the same age. Suffice it to say, I was surprised to look up how young she was in Jurassic Park. Granted, I was 14 when that came out so all “grown ups” looked old to me, but still… I had guessed mid-30s.
I guessed 17. I have a hard time remembering stars’ ages, but I can remember if they’re older/younger than me, so that helped me get close at least.
Early 30s, maybe late 20s.
EDIT: 26, I was pretty close. It’s the same thing with Gillian Anderson on The X-Files. Her age is never mentioned, so it comes as a huge shock when you find out she was 24-25 during the first season.
Wow, I figured her for about my age, 35. Being that off in the wrong direction is not flattering. Heh, looking at the IMDB boards for her, I had a lot of company assuming she was that old in Jurassic Park.
Glad I have some company.
