wring: punctuation and proofreading are a liberal conspiracy. Remeber: coherence is un-American.
And Gaudere’s Law bites me on the ass once again.
Generally, unless I don’t even understand what they’re trying to say, or if the error creates a joke or funny, I don’t bother pointing them out.
but in this case, damn. I really do wonder what it was about that one specific error out of all the rest that made the poster think “uh-oh, I goofed - I better correct that little hummer”.
and that isn’t even touching the logic behind the post.
Your ignorance is astounding but explains why, with so many people as ignorant as yourself, this Administration is still in place. Can you tell the difference between Saudi Arabia and Iraq? Could you give us some names of terrorists who “came over here” from Iraq? If you can do that President Bush is dying to hear from you.
Cheap shot? WTF are you talking about? What a pathetic little idiot.
I have this image of BeatenDam at the family reunion. After his little sister throws food at him, he punches his grandmother in the face. That’ll teach his sister not to take cheap shots!
Sailor
Trying to explain anything at all to this idiot [Beatendam] without mentioning other facts that are already well known to most folk who can read is a waste of time.
I doubt this fool actually realises that none of the 9/11 terrorists were from Iraq, that most of them were from Saudi Arabia, that Bin Laden is a Saudi, and there still is no proof that any of the reasons that Bush started this war have any truth whatsoever.
The American people might care rather a lot about the steady stream of body bags returning from Iraq, they might also care a great deal about recession that may well occur as the US government borrows money to pay for this war and interest rates increase.
They might also be concerned about fairness in other ways, if the US cannot be trusted, its government lies so transparently and blatently then they might wonder how the government will treat its own populace.
Other nations might just decide to not ever support the US in other military adventures, even when they are justified.
If the US has decided it can do whatever it likes for reasons it invents then no-one is safe.
The saudi’s get the message. They kicked bin laden out. And they are working with the us to stop terrorist attacks on the US. The saudi royal family wants to stay in power. Another attack on america they might wind up like saddam.
911 is a cheap shot attack.
Saddam was a wipping boy. The middle east is a loose gang of people that hate america. You get the biggest meanest gang member and kick his ass the rest will fall in line. You may think we are above this kind of thinking and need to send out more papers, have more (talks) and give more aid. But, I and most americans think a good ass kicking sends a more powerfull message to countries that (might) want to do us harm.
Bush did hype it up more than he should have. But all presidents have done it. Kosovo was hyped by president clinton.
I am not a pathetic little idiot. I am 6’2" I have been taking martial arts for 15 years. My views are different than yours but that does not make me an idiot. But this is the pit and any names you want to call me is fair and expected. Thank you for your time responding to my post sailor. I knew posting here I would be open to attacks and I must say I have not been dissappointed.
Cheney
George? What in the blazes are you doing up so late? Get off that computer and getcher ass to bed else no putt-putt golf tomorrow! I’m warning you, now git.
One adjective down, two to go…
The half-wittedness of your views aside, your level of spelling, punctuation, and grammar makes it clear that you’re either a child or an idiot. Since you also posted that
it’s easy to see where the logic train takes us here.
Personal attacks are the last resort of someone who has lost the argument. Beatendam does it again!!!
To be fair, ooga booga, poor writing skills could merely indicate a low level of education rather than a low level of intelligence. We’re here to fight ignorance, not mock it. No, really.
And of course we are all aware of the nature of the “message” sent to the rest of the world by the Iraq invasion: “Don’t mess with America – they’re clearly insane.” As an American, I can’t help but feel proud of this masterpiece of diplomacy.
Yes, yes you have.
OK, fair enough, so that should say, “you are a pathetic big idiot”; moron.
It is depressing to think that people actually think like this. That it is fine to go and invade a country just because they “hate us” and to set an example, even if they have done nothing to deserve it. This is so barbaric, so against international law and so against basic civilized behavior that it is sad to think there are people who think like that. . . and they vote.
By saying that might makes right you are saying there is nothing morally wrong with the terrorist attacks just as there is nothing morally wrong with attacking a country for no reason than your own convenience. There is nothing wrong with killing people if you can and it suits you. There is no difference between the USA and the terrorists except that the USA is stronger.
It is not only a matter of fighting ignorance but of upholding civilization because sometimes I get the feeling of how easy it is for people to slip back to uncivilized ways and return us all to darker times. We have a duty, not only to fight ignorance but to uphold civilization and not let barbarians destroy the civilization which has taken centuries to build.
True indeed. I guess being astoundingly ignorant is an entirely plausible explanation for BeatenDam’s worldview.
I wonder if they all just woke up one morning and started hating America, or if there were other reasons, y’know, like replacing the Iranian administration with the much hated Shah ?
This eventually led to the counter revolution led by religious fundamentalists, it also led to the US prividing support to Saddam Hussain, it led therefore to Hussains unprovoked attack on Iran, and a bloody war that cost undeds of thousands of lives.
The unstable situation led to an invasion of Kuwait, it then led to the US stationing military assets in Saudi Arabia, and when they remained in Saudi Arabia after Hussain had his butt kicked back into Iraq this directly caused the hatred that assisted the recruitment to the Al Qaeda network, which is responsible for those 9/11 attacks.
Little things such as overthrowing governments and replacing them with extremely oppressive puppets such was Irans Shah, does tend to upset folk.
Then supporting an evil despot like Hussain is likely to upset them somewhat more, can you see where I am going with this BeatenDam ?
Now I’m not saying it’s a good thing for Arab nations to hold grudges against America, I just hardly find it surprising.
We keep using words like freedom, all the while supporting some of the most opressive despots in the region, why some Arabs might think that was a little hypocritical, I wonder if you think that also.
Maybe you should quit trying to break cement blocks with your head.
You want your argument addressed, BeatenDam? Fine.
Did they?**
And in the extremely unlikely event that the US does invade Saudi Arabia, will this:
A) beat every potential terrorist into submission; or
B) make a lot more people angry at us, and increase the number of fundamentalist Muslim terrorists exponentially (given that Saudi Arabia includes Mecca)?
My money’s on B), frankly. **
A “cheap shot” does not usually involve the people making it dying. Suicide attacks are not “cheap” in any respect.**
So what were the Taliban - a warm-up act? Did the US bombing the crap out of them cow Saddam into submission? No? Then why would deposing Saddam cow anyone else?
And the Middle East cannot be considered a “gang” in any sense, unless you ignore the enormous range of religious and ethnic diversity it encompasses. Why do you think Iran and Iraq have been fighting a vicious conflict for years: as practice for taking on America? Hardly evidence of a unity of purpose.
P.S. It’s “whipping” with an “h”.
I’d like to start with “have more proof, and develop more consensus” before moving on to “ass-kicking”. And yes, I do like to think of America as a civilized country. **
And the message is that “America is the enemy.” How do you think potential terrorists will react to that?**
“Hyped”? Yup. “Based on entirely fictitious premises”? Not as far as I know.**
Your views don’t make you an idiot; they merely demonstrate that you are one.**
Then my previous sentence should make you happy.
That was priceless!
