WNBA Women All-Stars vs. UConn Men's Championship College Team

No, they wouldn’t, because they were 14 year olds and they would have the same problems playing adult men as women do. The truly exceptional 14 year olds who are either physically precocious or “just that good” don’t play on the U15 team, they play on the U18 team (this is what was alluded to above).

There is a reason that the USWNT plays exhibitions against a team that is going to offer real disciplined, strategic play (like an academy U15 team) without totally overwhelming the women physically, instead of just manhandle the women in a way that has nothing to do with how a women’s soccer game is actually played (like any team of 18 year old men would). The reason is that 14 year old males are the closest simulation of “the best women athletes in the world” that are available.

Even then, it’s a pretty coarse approximation. The US women’s team is, at most points in time, the best women’s national soccer team in the world, and I believe consensus is that they have never, at any point, been out of the top 3. And when playing the 14 year olds, they still lose 5 out of 6 times. If there was another level below that where they could play and get even odds, it would be better for their development, but when you get down to 10 year olds you have the reverse problem - an athletic adult woman can physically overpower a 10-year-old boy in a way that has nothing to with soccer skill, so it serves no purpose.

No, they don’t. Because the u18 team is also exceptional or physically precocious. Yeah, they would be playing varsity for their high school, but they don’t because they’re in a professional development academy. You have literally no idea what you’re talking about. That u15 team had players on it that are now playing professionally in MLS, Serie A, etc. Bad high school teams DO NOT.

You have no idea of what you speak and no interest in learning. You’ve made multiple claims in this thread that are demonstrable wrong (speed, scoring against u-15, elite u-15 being able to compete with high school, etc) and don’t care to acknowledge or correct yourself.

I have no interested in continuing with you. Anyone else, sure.

I have a related anecdote.

10th graders and my high school was the last year of required PE. Most people were on a team of some sort. There was also a class called Basic Fundamental or something for shitty athletes who could never make a team, people whose grades were too low to make a team and stoners who didn’t give a shit. They’d just give us a couple of basketballs and tell us not to get into trouble.

Our girls softball team was pretty good. One day the stoners played a scrimmage against the softball team near the end of the season. These girls had been playing softball on teams for years. The stoners had obviously played the game before but not in any organized way. Much to my surprise, the stoners won something like 20-2.

US Soccer has U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, U20, and U23. I don’t think too many kids are playing well above their age. A quick glance at the rosters didn’t spot any more than a year above their ages but I didn’t check them all.

Add to this list ultra-endurance races. Think multi-day running or cycling races that span hundreds or thousands of kilometers.

I think there are a few women SURFERS who can compete against men, and win. At least one such surfer. Actually, a teenager.
