Wolverine is in the house!

On a lighter note, after my post about Mr. Rilch’s former co-worker, I have a new addition to our collection of stuffed animals and action figures. I opened the closet this morning and found that Mr. Rilch had gotten me a Wolverine (one of the X-Men movie tie-ins) action figure.

For those who don’t know it, Mr. Rilch and I collect toys. We have all four South Park kids (the large, felt ones), almost all the 100-Acre Wood animals (classic, not Disney), and various random other creatures, such as Snoopy, the Little Caesar’s mascot, a Pittsburgh Pirates parrot, Opus and Bill, and so on. We really play with these, by posing them and making them talk to us and each other. Sometimes, when we’re on the verge of an argument, we’ll talk through the animals and avert disaster.

So Mr. Rilch’s note said that he’d feel better about leaving me here alone if Wolverine was looking out for me.* I put him on the shelf with the action figures: Stone Cold and the Rock, Worf, a lone Borg, and Pinhead. Rose from Titanic (wearing the beaded dress from when she almost jumped/fell off the stern) also lives there, because she doesn’t really fit anywhere else. I put Wolfie next to her so she can check the new guy out, and I’m already planning what we’ll act out when Mr. Rilch gets back. Sample dialogue:

Wolverine: So you think you can handle me, babe?

Rose: What makes you think you can handle me? I spit on the last man who tried to control me!

Me: I’ve got the coolest husband in the world!

*I also have pepper spray and a hunting knife. We may be kooky, but we’re not fools.

Wolvie. Not Wolfie. Wolfie would be a nickname for a guy called Wolf. Wolveroonie is also acceptable, but only if you’re a 13-year-old Asian-American girl.

Me, I prefer Canucklehead, but that’s a personal preference.

That’s very cool, anyway, Rilchiam. Toys are good.

I stand corrected.

I just went downstairs, and Wolvie was facedown on the floor beneath the shelf. I guess Rose had to prove she only looks like a pushover.

100 acre-wood animals pre-disney is very cool. A. A. Milne is generally a fav of mine.
But you’ve got a Pinhead figure!!! Sweet! I am a huge Hellraiser fan. Though, if it is from the Puppet Master movies, that is very cool too. If it is from neither, please excuse my excitement. Though it is probably still a very nice toy. I picked up the Jay & Silent Bob action figures not too long ago (and they talk too).

Sweet action figures…
I have several Daleks and a Tardis, a Jawa beanie baby, lots and lots of Warhammer figurines glued and painted up, The original Han Solo, and Darth Vader (thought the light saber is missing on him), a bunch of different Spideys, and when I was little, I had the 200 or so lego people up on my window ledge to protect me. Also have some Spawn figures, DiabloII figurines (yes, this game has gotten way out of hand in my life lately), Commond & Conquer pewter figurines, and Robbie the Robot.

I have about 60 star wars figures from when I was 5-9.

If I had of been smart smart back them and mot melt all the accessories, as well as luke skywalkers face, they might be worth something!

You really think it is wise to leave that Borg with the rest of the toys? One of these days you are going to check out your toys and it will be ALL BORG. All those old toys will be worth nothing!! I would keep the Borg somewhere else if I were you.

If y’all are collecting these for their value later on…

KEEP THE BOX!!! Much higher value with the box.

“Wolfie” was the name of Eddie Munster’s werewolf doll on the classic sitcom, The Munsters.

Okay, I’ll do that. I’ll replace him with Darth Maul.
