My first image while reading the OP was of Cartman trying to bludgeon Kyle to death with a whiffle bat.

I was trying to imagine getting more force to the blows by swinging the iPod at the end of its headphone cord…but it’d pretty much involve the boyfriend not defending himself at all. Maybe it could be held in the hand just to add a little weight to the blow? Still, it’d be an awkward shape as a fist-load.
It seems like the iPod is really poorly designed as a weapon. Perhaps they could add a switchblade feature to it to make this story more credible. (But it has to be a blade that causes blunt trauma)
