It most likely was suicide - I was just hedgeing because Police have been hedging as well. And in any case, it was almost certainly not premeditated (in the “I’ll go over to my friend-who-lives-on-the-13th-floor’s place and jump”), but rather something that snapped within the woman (who had had problems but was thought to be mostly OK now. Maybe something did just plain snap there all of a sudden).
In any case, I’m fairly sure she did not aim to jump at or on anyone. But in all fairness, I am far less interested in her than I am in the baby Koren and the rest of his family.
There’s also the teenage (17) relative who was holding Koren in her arms when the woman fell on both of them. Physically, she was only slightly hurt, but the baby was thrown from her hands and hit head first on the sidewalk, which is what killed him. She was completely shell-shocked (as in unable to utter a word) for some 24 hours after this happened. Think she’ll be OK any time soon? And Koren’s 4-YO brother is already asking about him, too…
See above. Probably yes, but probably also pretty much irrelevant (in that even if deliberate, it almost certainly wasn’t pre-meditated). Like I said, I’m far less interested in that part of the story.
This is eerie. Because the Shemesh family were literally on the verge of moving out from the rented apartment (as in, all the boxes packed and ready to go the following day) when disaster struck. It’s almost as though your story is a Stephen King-ey “repeat in reverse” of mine
Mr. Moto - I certainly didn’t intend to stir up old, painful memories. Sorry about that.
