I know this is an old post, but this is exactly how I felt when (it turned out) I was in labor. I told my husband that it was a good thing my water broke, or I wouldn’t have known when to go to the hospital.
My labor was 13 hours from water breaking to Hey, a baby!; probably 6ish hours of really uncomfortable contractions and no idea how much pushing. Of course, if you want to count from when I started dilating, I was in labor for about 3 weeks. there’s a good guilt-tripping number.
First daughter: 24 hours
Second daugher: 41 minutes
I guess my second labor might be considered longer depending on when you define the start of labor because I began to leak some amniotic fluid around 3 pm and went to the maternity hospital to have it checked out. But I wasn’t having contractions and wasn’t dilated by 10 pm when I had a second round of fetal monitoring.
At 1 am, however, I awoke to the strongest contraction EVER and continued to have strong contractions less than one minute apart until she was born at 1:41 am. She came out like a champagne cork! It was painful but short so I didn’t have the exhaustion I had with my first.
