What is this absolutely ridiculous and disturbing television program?

Peter Ostrum, the original Charlie, shows up in the opening minutes. He gets a golden ticket and says, “Not this time, Wonka!” and that is all we see of him. I…ok, I guess that is a thing.

Gene Wilder’s voice is computer generated. It…well, it sounds pretty good. It is odd, though. Very odd. I don’t even know what to think.

The footage of the people getting their golden tickets was pathetic. Uh, they know they have been chosen to be on a TV show!
This whole show looks expensive and the winning team gets $3 million, paid out over 30 years.
This show is high budget…and then something like the chocolate waterfall looks pathetically cheap.
I love that at no point, this thing was rejected. All along the way, Netflix seemed to think this was good idea.
Oh, I’m watching it. But it’s more like watching a disaster play out. Looks like they dropped all of it at once. If this aired weekly, I’d forget about it.
