A whole lot of left leaning voters might disagree with that.
I requested a replacement online, just a couple of months ago - but residents of territories and some states cannot request it online
So if I gave my practically blank vaccination card to my brother, and he filled in his own information, is that proof that my brother is vaccinated? No. You’re simply wrong.
If you committed that fraudulent act, yes, most, or at least many, locations that require proof of vaccination to enter would accept that as proof that your brother was vaccinated.
Some states are rolling out apps, but I don’t know of any state that requires that you use the app instead of the card.
The thing is, that’s a felony. What you’re saying is no different than suggesting we shouldn’t need driver’s licenses because anyone can get a fake one.

Anderson faces three felony charges, including carrying an unregistered firearm, forgery of a government seal and identity theft of Pfizer, CVS and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office. He is also charged with creating a false medical record, a misdemeanor.
It’s not actually proof since presumably your brother is not in fact vaccinated- but it would be accepted as proof just like my sister could have shown my license as proof of her age when I was 18 and she was 16. (even with photos, we look enough alike that it would have been accepted)
No, you said, and I quote, “Walgreens is open 24 hours.” Full stop. In my metropolitan area of 9+ million people, a vast majority of them are not open 24 hours. Your declarative, blanket statement went beyond hyperbole, IMHO.
ETA, nevermind, I really don’t care that much.
Right, it’s not actually proof. But a poster is claiming that it IS proof. S/he is wrong.

You are getting caught up in thread hijacks that have nothing to do with the OP. Please drop these offshoot concerns immediately.
Not a warning, just guidance.
Vaccine cards are terrible as ID/Passports.
They were not designed for that. I’ve had school library cards that were better.
You do understand they’re not IDs or Passports, right? It’s just what someone called them and it stuck.
Exactly. So, if my vax card is not a Passport, then I need to get another document, and that negates the “it’s free and 24-hours a day” part. Walgreen won’t be issuing the “passports.”
Huh? What are you talking about? Another document for what?
You know, to leave the country, or drive a car. Actually, I have no idea what that poster is talking about at this point.
If “vaccine passports” are required AND if vaccination cards suck at being that, we’d need to get another, better, document to use as passport.
NYC will be requiring the following:
“To enter indoor venues, patrons must use the city’s new app, the state’s Excelsior app or a paper card to show proof of vaccination.”
So, I guess it’s good enough for NYC.
You’ve gone from
Given that poor people and African Americans and Hispanics have lower vaccination rates that whites or Asian, won’t vaccine passports end up being racially biased?
How can we defend having such a document if voter ID was seen as an entry barrier for those same people?

In other words, you started out by saying that we shouldn’t have vaccine passports because voter ID laws are problematic for some. After you failed to show how the two are related to each other, you’ve added two hypothetical conditionals and are now arguing that if both of those things happen, then showing proof of vaccination will be as difficult as voting (which it isn’t, you’re still ignoring a lot of requirements to vote) therefore and I think this is the point you’re trying to make, we should get rid of vaccine passports.
I think you lost this one.
At some point personal responsibility and gumption have to be in play for everyone- if someone hasn’t been vaccinated at this point, it’s totally a matter of choice, full stop. They could have made it happen if they were interested.
So I say tough luck if minorities (or whoever- Republicans, etc…) are choosing not to be vaccinated. That’s their choice. And it’s not my problem if their choice makes it harder on them.
I’d submit that most anti-vaxers aren’t going to want a fake vaccine card. They would much rather argue their right to not put that poison into their bodies with a min. wage greeter. Being martyred for their beliefs will make their day.
