Woo! I scored...(books)

An Annals of America for $10! Whee!

Thanks to a Doper I can no longer remember, I have been coveting a set of Annals of America for some time. I looked around on eBay, and figured I’d have to shell out at least $50+ some day when I got around to it. I mentioned my desire to my mom, who is a librarian and sees the donation table daily, but she said that those almost never come in (unlike “Great Books” sets, which show up twice a year).

Over the weekend, I was in an exhibit hall for educational materials and stopped to drool over the Britannica table. I reminded DangerDad that we needed this blue set over here someday. When we got home last night, I mentioned it to my mom on the phone.

Today a set showed up at the donations table at the library, and my mom grabbed it for me. Which is rather a nice coincidence. And for much less money than I thought I would have to pay! Hee hee! I am feeling a bit giddy.

So, share your used book happy days here!

I love making a good score at the thrift shop or used book store. I haven’t been book-scrounging all summer (been busy), but I need to go soon. I’m getting that shaky feeling again.
