After creating this thread, my wife told me about a co-worker of hers who goes every year. She has a time-share in Hawaii, so the family spends a February week in the sun. They go to the game, get a ton of autographs, and generally soak in the party atmosphere.
As much as I mock the game, that actually sounds like an excellent vacation.
I can think of so many better things to do in Hawaii then watch a meaningless football game. I would love to get back to Hawaii.
It was a good excuse for us to go to Oahu and enjoy the food and shopping. My father-in-law bought the tickets to take my 15 year old brother-in-law to the game. He ended up hurting his knee that morning, so brother-in-law and I went instead. That was a nice surprise for me Sunday morning.
Sorry, that was clearly not directed at you. It appears you live there. I would think for anyone living there it would be a great event.
I meant for as a tourist, I would not want to do it. Hawaii is too beautiful and I spent to short of a time there my only chance.
