I have seen word processing programs on computers that had a word count tool in them. I have WordPerfect 9, and it didn’t come with any instruction thingy. Does any one else have WordPerfect 9, and do you know if it has a word count program in it?
I also have WordPad if anyone knows if that has a word count thingy.
You can create a Basic Counts report to analyze a writing style. The Basic Counts report determines if there are too many long words, or if paragraphs are too long and complicated for the reader to easily understand.
To view a Basic Counts report
Click Tools, Grammatik.
Click Options, Analysis, Basic Counts.
Note
· Basic Counts does not consider text in tables, headings, footers, lists, or other specially formatted text.
Wow! I have WordPerfect8 and had no idea about this Grammatik option. When I wanted to count words, I went to
FILE > PROPERTIES > INFORMATION. It has about the same kind of information about the document, but not as detailed as what Astro mentioned.
