Wordle 278 3/6
I’ve got a new “fun word” for the beginning even though it is unlikely to be in the answer list. Speaking of which, I got 3 when I might have gotten 2 had I not used the first, unlikely, word that came to mind:
THANE
CHERT
CHEST

I started with the boring TRACE word. But it worked this time.

CHEST
PURGE → One E, let’s work on consonants mostly
MEANT → Got T with a lucky placement, no vowel help
DWELT → At least I’m eliminating lots of consonants… double E, anyone?
SHEET → Nope, But that H narrows it down with the S as 4th letter…

Woot! Got it in 2 today! Basically luck but always fun. High five, chela!
Here’s an embarrassing question: How do you get those little colored square thingies in your posts?
At the end of the game where there’s a green text box that says “Share” – click on that and it’s copied to you clipboard. Then when you’re typing your post, hit right-click>Paste or ctrtl/cmd-V to paste it to include it.

Took me awhile to think of my answers, but I got a good result.
Completely lucky second guess. I just liked using all those common letters!

Quick going today. I’ve gotten into the habit of using 3-vowel openers, and for the most part it’s been going well.
This was surprise, because I was fool enough to use three letters I already knew weren’t in the word, and put the two letters I did know in the spots I knew they didn’t go.

Here’s tomorrow’s, back on schedule.

That’s why I immediately jumped to CHERT instead of CHEST because I knew that it used a lot of common letters even if I knew it most likely wasn’t in the word list.

cool beans. Thanks!
I might have gone for the same word you did, except I’d already eliminated the ‘R’ with my beginning word. I often use my second word to test letters such as ‘CH’, ‘SH’, ‘CL’ or ‘OU’ combinations, depending on common placement of letters discovered from IRATE (in this case, ‘T’ and ‘E’). I was also interested to confirm/eliminate the ‘ST’ combination.
But mostly, I got lucky.
Best entry so far is puzzlegal with her last two words making a phrase. I haven’t made a phrase with any guesses yet.
