I came up with TRACE, LIONS, DUMPY.
I often use TRACE as a starting word. LIONS will get the nine most frequent letters and C.
It looks like I leave out G and H of the top 15 but get 16 and 17.
I like this group a lot. I particularly like checking both A and O in the center position. In a perfect world the third word would have I as the third letter, but meh.
ETA: Also checking both E and Y in the last position is solid.

Disclosure and Coincidence: Last week I lost on a practice site on a _O_ER word. I looked at the word list and saw five words, including FOYER that would be difficult. I still remember the five words.
After the fourth pick I knew three of the difficult words were still possible. I had those words in mind when I came up with the fifth pick.
Last night I was doing a “what if”. What if it was a “_O_ER” word and there were three words left (including FOYER), what would be a good fifth word. I was in the same situation of my “what if” last night - three of the five words left, including FOYER (one of the words was different from my situation last night).

After what I thought was a good start, I fell right into the _O_ER trap. After four, I still had a choice of FOYER, BOXER, HOMER, DOZER, and JOKER (I think that’s all). 10 (!) different consonants, and no valid words with consonants from four of the five words. I figured DOZER was probably the least likely, so I found a word with letters from three of the other four. Probably the hardest I’ve ever worked for a Wordle solution.
My sympathies to all who lost their streaks on this one. I almost joined you.
