CRANE
LINES - After this MONEY was the first word I saw. But, I decided to think on this and come up with a better answer.
RHOMB - Wordlebot told me “this is exactly what I would’ve guessed in this situation”,
MONEY - If I had gone with my first thought I would have got a 3. With the “best” answer for the third pick I got a 4
Getting the R out quickly helped a lot, but still plenty of O_E choices. I decided to flip a coin between MOSEY and HOVEL. Somehow N escaped my notice at two, but if it hadn’t I probably would have gone with HONEY, so same result. Happy with two threes in a row.
SCRAP → Good elimination word, at least…
HOTEL → Time to concentrate on the consonants… MOWED → Not much left, and the final D coming up grey killed a lot of possibilities. MONEY
According the stats, I’ve played 119 games and my longest streak is 65. Meh.
My longest streak is 33, but your streak ends if you just skip a day, which is how all my streaks have gotten broken. (Amazingly enough, I’ve never lost a game when playing Wordle proper, which I can only ascribe to dumb luck: while playing Wordle archive back when you could do that, I failed to solve a number of Wordles in 6 tries.)
I switched from a vowel-heavy approach (opening guess was ADIEU) to a consonant-heavy approach (opening guess is SLANT) about 6 weeks back, and trying to get the consonants first is working much better for me. Ratio of guesses to games played is down to about 4.09, and it had been up around 4.27.
Coulda Shoulda Woulda…had it in 4. I had the answer word down on the board for my fourth word, but changed it at the last second. Could have been worse, glad it wasn’t.
Hinge was the first solution I saw, then binge. (And singe and tinge but I’d already checked s and t.) In cases like this I always like to go with the first one I saw.
Also, ‘noter’? No clue but I do love those letters. (ETA: I should have kept looking and gone with toner instead. I always feel better about using simple words I know rather than scrambling letters hoping for a valid guess.)
