Ugh. A total brain fart day. I was surprised when I didn’t have it in four. Was looking for rhymes of POUCH and COUCH, so TOUCH didn’t register for a while. Then I was shocked that it wasn’t TOUCH. “There’s nothing left!!” For some reason the V became completely invisible to me, and I didn’t see VOUCH until my third trip through the remaining letters.
Ah well, the streak is intact and tomorrow is another day.

WOUND → No consonants yet? Should have done HOUND, which would have gotten me another yellow

T was prohibited by the first guess; at step three I hesitated between V and P and thought the P more likely (oops). At step 4 I took a chance that V was more likely than a repeated C, and that one paid off.

I was thinking of DEALT for my opener, but I’m a bit contrary, so I get annoyed by Wordlebot harping on it being the very bestest first word. I was apparently feeling a bit childish, as SMELT popped into my head. For my second word, I thought it might be the answer, and I figured if it wasn’t, I’d get the placement of the S. I’m very pleased. My previous couple of twos all have had a bit of an asterisk next to them, but this was a straight up two.
Wordlebot is a sore loser, spouting off about how lucky and unskillful I was.

I learned something. Maybe everyone knows this and I’m the last to know. For Wordlebot it has DEALT as the best first word if you are in hard mode. If you aren’t in hard mode it has CRANE as the best first word.
