That’s why I threw in GLOVE to knock three potential letters with one guess. Still didn’t work for me since there were at least seven potential middle letters.
I couldn’t do that, though, as I was playing on the Hard level. Once I had 4 letters, I was trapped.
I think today will take out a lot of streaks for those playing hard mode. And those not playing hard mode.
Indeed, I had 3 greens and a yellow with my first word and it still took me to the last guess to get it. I almost couldn’t think of any word at all at the end there. Brutal.

My wife couldn’t get this one either. But on his way out the door this morning, my 15 year old son said he got it. When he gets home, I want to see his phone to see how he managed it.

There is a site that is sort of like wordlebot. It is scoredle.com.
You put in any answer, show how you solve it, and it gives statistics. At the bottom it gives how it solves the word.
It starts with SLATE, and if the result is 3rd and 5th yellow) the second word it picks is today’s word. So, put in ANGER or CHEAP it will show that it picks the word as second.

I was fortunate that my opening word pretty much guaranteed _A_ER, and I could go trolling for letters immediately. Even then, I couldn’t stay out of the trap.
After seeing all the streaks that ended today (my sincere sympathies), I’ve never been happier to get a six.
I don’t see how you went to PARER before more common words like PAGER, PAYER, PALER, and PACER. My mind would’ve struggled to come up with PARER as a word.
Look at which letters were knocked out by Wheelz’ second and third guesses.

I’ve got a long history of overlooking what’s right in front of me, so I understand completely!
This was a day when playing in Hard Mode carried a distinct disadvantage.
What is sad is I even used a word to knock out 3 of the possibilities thinking that I had two more guesses and only two more options. So, I even took that approach (I don’t play on hard mode). I still lost because I didn’t think of the winning word.
