Oh, I forgot to brag! For the starter I used a new word for me, one that someone said he used to start yesterday’s puzzle which sounded good to me. (Can’t say who, that would be a spoiler, but thank you!)
Anyway, that word got me two green AND two yellow letters! And I guessed right on the second word! My first ever two word solve, yahoo!
SOLAR → good start, lets try something with T & E
STREP → E & R but no A or T… once I thought about SHORE (but no O) figured it had to be
SHIRE
Any time you get the first letter on the first guess, that makes for a really strong play.

It’s probably already been said that this is a lot like Wheel of Fortune. It’s fun to play, but what a nuisance to have to get into a different evening gown every time!

I wasn’t sure my first guess was considered a word, but apparently it is. I wasn’t sure my third guess was considered to be English, but apparently it is. I wasn’t sure whether my second was considered a word or an abbreviation, but apparently it’s a word.

There are two more French ones out there, btw. One is similar to the usual, but the second one has 7 or 8 letters and they give you the first one…beyond my abilities, but an interesting approach. Can link if interested.
