@Author_Balk We almost played the same game with identical words in order…I just had one extra word in there (took a chance on playing a double-letter word too early, and broke my streak of 3’s as a result). Should have thought more like you!

Yet another four for me. SPELL, SPECK, or SPERM were left; I doubted it would be SPERM, so I flipped a virtual coin on the other two.

FYI… There have been changes made to Wordle. The original list of words and the order were set up by the originators.
Starting this week the NYT is in control of the words. Apparently the words are in a different order and it looks like the words will be different.
Please please please allow occasional repeat answers I’ll be good I’ll clean my room I’ll walk the dog please please please!
(Not back to back repeat, obviously; all I really want is to occasionally sprinkle in an answer that’s already been an answer months ago.)
Thanks for passing that on! It’ll be interesting to see if there are any noticeable changes.
I think that would be a good thing, even though it would somewhat reduce the utility of my list of past solutions. There’s no reason why there shouldn’t be the occasional repeat.

As usual, the double letters bolloxed me up. I had SPELL before SPEND, but I just couldn’t quite accept it.
@Chefguy, “phewery” is going to be my new favorite word.

BEGIN → Not a great, well, beginning, but the E at least is something
ASTER → No A or I, with S & E. If I want to check O with an L & H, I’ll need to try…
SHEOL → …which I didn’t expect would be it. Let’s see: not SHELL, but there’s plenty with double L…
SMELL → I actually though of SWELL first, but tried what I thought was a bit more common. There’s one more I just thought of and might try before SWELL…

It was a minor trap, but eliminating SHELL with my third guess made it a sure thing (though a possible 6).
Well, I for one welcome our back-to-back repeating overlords…
