Indeed, the German version can leave quite a few options after a good start. Btw., there is also an Austrian version. Same language, same problem. It was the first ever wordle that I didn’t get. I got the last four letters correctly with the second guess and I was left with five possible words for the remaining four guesses - and chose all four wrong words, grrr. I should have switched to “easy” mode to eliminate some options.

I had to thnk some here. Nothing I could think of with RO[U|A]xT (except ROUST, already eliminated). Nor were there any words ROx[U|A]T. There really needs to be another vowel, so it must be a second O (but not ROOST):

Every day I do these puzzles, and every day when I have solved it, I feel I should have done better. Today I forgot to set it to hard mode before beginning, so I used one guess that hard mode wouldn’t have allowed. Hate it when that happens!

It would be too easy to tell us what the problem is, people must read through 700 posts (most of which are unremarkable reports of people’s result for the day) to guess what the problem is.

If @Ponderoid could tell us how many letters are correct in your guess of what he means, I’ll make a second guess including those letters.

My settings and stats get reset all the time. There must be something going on with my cookies.
