AMBER → An anagram of BREAM. Well, anyway, let’s try something with O & I… STOIC → OSTEO is out, I think the ST are an ending, O must be second - try something with a U? JOUST
A very lucky 3 for me. Upon reflection, my second guess should have been HOIST to try the H, which would have led directly to the answer.
A rare two for me in 536, by virtue of my standard starting word (which I doggedly stick with even though it isn’t that statistically advantageous): JOULE.
“BOING” is on my short list of ‘words to try because they can test untested vowels, but don’t have R, S, or T because I’ve probably already checked those consonants.’ But today I DID need the T, so tried “JOINT” as a similar word. Lucky!
Google provided a list of most searched words, events, etc. of 2022.
The most popular search is for “Wordle”.
Of the 10 “most searched definitions”, eight of them were Wordle answers this year.
WordleBot said there were 3 other possible words besides the answer. I found one of them (INNER), but I wouldn’t have tried any of them before trying INFER. (They were ICIER and IDLER.) I still resist double consonants, which is often a mistake. But not today.
