This one took forever. Damn near 20 minutes. Motel is a new second word for me, which took a hot minute to come up with. Then for lemon I almost had to sleep on it. I’m always wrong when I say this, but I think lemon was the only possibility left.

Passed up my usual second word of CHORE: didn’t seem to be a place for an H, and the only words could think of with C,L,N had already been used. Still wanted the vowels and the R, and LONER checked them and narrowed down where the L and N could be.

I didn’t think that OUTED was a likely solution but wanted a word with an O, U and a couple of likely vowels. And I don’t think it happens too often that I guess the solution without a single green beforehand.
And re. 1/6/23’s word, the only use of BELIE I can think of is in Shakespeare’s Sonnet 130: “I think my love as rare / As any she belied by false compare”, which is why I didn’t expect BELIE to be the solution
