I don’t use wordlebot so not sure how that works, but with only one letter difference in the two words it seems like your choice would be more efficient since it’s a higher frequency letter.
Given the answer BASIC would have been even more “efficient” LOL.
I know, right? I mostly read WordleBot for the chuckles.
If I were to assign a meaning to one word being ‘more efficient’ than another in a given context, it would mean that it would eliminate more of the remaining possibilities than the other, regardless of the actual solution.
For instance, yesterday after my opening word, I my fairly exhaustive search found 11 possibilities for the solution. My second word was guaranteed to eliminate 8 or more of them. A second word that might have eliminated fewer than 8, depending on the solution, would have been less efficient.
Wrong type of facia and actually a typo by me both in the game and on this board, as I was thinking fascia when I mistyped facia. And if you can make any sense out of that, my hat’s off to you.

RATED → Didn’t get much there. I though of an off-the-wall possibility…
WACKY → which at least got me the C, though I’m not sure where it goes. So while running through some possibilities I gave this a shot…
BANCO → Which was little help, other than to narrow down the possibilities for the next guess. I thought about the C on the end, and since PANIC didn’t work I tried…

I tried MAORI for my 2nd guess but was told that it wasn’t on the list. I wonder why?

I wasn’t sure if Canid would be a valid word - it’s commonly used, but being short for Canidae and all - thankfully it was accepted…there seemed to be a lot of CA words this could be, so I wanted to check that, and turned out to be a good choice that led me directly to the answer.
Slart? I had to look that one up…urban dictionary had a rather enlightening definition.
