My usual second word is CHORE, but I couldn’t see an H working here, so I came up with COREY instead, and boy, was I glad I did. Scoredle said that after that, the only other possibility besides FLYER was PLYER, which I’d thought of (there’s a Plyer’s Mill Road in Silver Spring, MD not far from my sister’s house), but didn’t seem like a well-known word. So it was a gimme at that point.

Finally chose correctly when given a choice between flyer / flier and dryer / drier. Any time I come across those words in quordle I consistently pick the wrong one first, so this was gratifying.

I fretted about checking R or S (tones) but it turned out not to matter. Took a while to see tonic; not a lot of five letter words begin with TON. Given the eliminated letters, tonic might be the only one.

And I don’t know why I keep looking at WordleBot. In spite of my getting it in 2, it rates both my skill and my luck as below average.
