For me, the key today was finding the ‘E’ in last position. Once I had tested ‘A’ and ‘R’ in the 2 positions, it seemed the most likely answer had to begin with the ‘A’. That left ADORE, AFORE and AZURE. I knew ADORE had already been used and AFORE seemed unlikely… to AZURE was worth the try. Cool!

AZURE → Seems I’m starting a little slow. No luck with the Z, darn it. Three vowels gone, so only need to try one here
TAILS → At least I placed the A. Need to try O and N, and… then I’m sifting through lower-frequency consonants.
CAPON → And came up completely empty. Getting nervous here. Try Y or a second A? I think the former, though it will also mean a double letter try
BADDY → Turns out I needed to try a triple letter.

Ugh. I had to resort to checking the used word list. Fortunately, JAZZY was off the table; otherwise I would have had to go to a sleuth word at four, and probably headed for a fail. So at least there’s that.
Ugh is right. I had a seriously hard time with this one. The correct word took forever to occur to me.
