EVOKE → Oh, boy. Trap territory. I think I’m done with vowels, so try some comcons
STONE → Got one. And it’s now a certified trap. There is one word with a vowel and a comcon I feel compelled to try
ALONE → So no CLONE either. I should check the R, so I’ll try
CRONE → Ah, that was a misplay. Should have been PRONE. Does it cost me?
PHONE
OZONE was also a possible, and would have gotten me a six. But I could have arrived at it in five if I had played guess #4 correctly. Fortunately, it didn’t cost me.

No, it hasn’t been used yet. I have the list of all previous answers since day one in an Excel sheet, and I put that word up yesterday for a guess after checking. Maybe you’ve seen it on the original answers list (future words) that was floating around online way back when. I never looked at the future words list as I didn’t want to get spoiled, but I had heard that NYT had changed the order of the future words, removed some, and also added new words.

PHONE → Strikeout. Time for A & I and three comcons
TRAIL → Struck out on the comcons. The S is left; I’ll use it as a plural, which means no 3, but I don’t have enough to take a really good guess at it
WAIFS → SAI?? goes nowhere, so it must be ?AIS?, with no E try a terminal Y which leads us to
DAISY
From Scoredle’s analysis, I think I might have had a shot at a birdie if I had gone with LAIRS for my second guess. Still, probably wouldn’t have done it differently.
Ugh.

I didn’t like MAIZE much as a guess, in that if it wasn’t the solution it wouldn’t give me a lot of information. But after looking for a while I didn’t find anything better. And it wasn’t bad; it eliminated NAIVE, and then the terminal Y occurred to me, and I won the coin flip between DAISY and DAILY. A good, fun birdie.

SAVVY
GASSY
DAISY
Screwed the pooch on this one. Last night after 2 I could only see saggy, but I really didn’t like that as an answer. As I was falling asleep I thought of savvy, and then completely forgot about Wordle all day until just now. After savvy I really didn’t like gassy, but didn’t see anything else. Then when I finally saw daisy I remembered that I actually thought of daisy just as I was falling asleep last night and thinking that it had to be the answer, but of course I forgot. So much for that potential 3.
This was my 700th game.

| L | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 3.70 | 3.89 | 3.6 | 3.55 | 3.32 |
This 100 games saw quite an improvement. I think the impact of the ever-growing previous answers list is starting to snowball.
