Fortunately, BULLY and GULLY had already been used, killing the -ULLY trap. But lost the coin toss at 4 between FULLY and BULKY. Scoredle also gave BULGY as a possible solution, which I couldn’t entirely discount given that C.S. Lewis uses it as an adjective in Prince Caspian (the Three Bulgy Bears).
Anyhow, I’m on quite a roll here: 5-4-5-5 over the past four days.

Nicely done!
Cheers ! I was lucky with the second guess, then it was obvious !
I don’t have much of a strategy, just guess words that use previously unused
letters !

CRANE
HOIST - Well, that narrows it down to a ‘U’, and eliminates the ‘QU’ combo.
BULLY - I don’t check word lists, so no three for me, but a solid guess
BULKY
EXPEL → Slow start. I was hoping for one and only one E which can be useful to know. Two vowels, two comcons next
LIARS → That… worked not so well. Two vowels left (or maybe a Y) - I’ll try O & U and as many comcons as I can (in the event, one)
FLOUT → There’s the U. Still haven’t placed the L. I can figure it out with the next guess, along with a Y and the U going before them. DULLY/GULLY/BULLY? Trust the B.
BULLY → Of course, now it’s a minor-grade trap. G or K? I think I’m safe from an out-and-out loss
BULGY → Shoulda gone K
BULKY
I think this is three sixes in my last five days. After my second guess, Scoredle said “The best guess to make next would be FOLLY.” So, what, should I have just stopped playing?

Finally a reasonably easy one and I screwed the pooch. After 2 I saw alike, but that’s already been an answer. I thought I went through every ali_e possibility but clearly I missed V. So then I kept looking until I saw alley, which I felt good about. Doh! My 4 streak continues.

All I was seeing was Fully or Bulky (Bully and Gully were used already). I got lucky, but turns out I was luckier than I thought - I looked at Scoredle afterwards, and other than the “non-words”, I missed seeing Dully and Lumpy.
