CLONE - Total SWAG
TEARY → All right, not bad, I can build on that - Let’s add an O to that E, and see if I can get three more comcons out of it - it’s a bit of a BS word, but what the heck
NOELS → Lotta letters to jumble, LONER and ALONE are both out, but the second look leads me to
CLONE
So that one was really quick. This one really feels like it could be either a fast win or - if you fall into the -ONE trap - a bit of a slog.

CLONE
My first three in almost a week.
I flipped a coin between CLONE and CRONE. Could also have been CRONY, but I was kind of surprised there weren’t more possibilities.

And in meaningless statistics that nobody cares about, my streak officially hits 500!
Again, congratulations to @psychobunny for hitting 500! That’s very cool.
I have a link to the first post this game was introduced here on the Dope, by @Briny_Deep on Christmas Eve 2021 ➜ "Wordle," a strangely compelling word game (Part 1) - The Game Room - Straight Dope Message Board.
Today is the 806th day since then. The James Webb Space Telescope was launched the very next day, so some of us here have been playing for as long as the JWST has been flying.
My current streak is 193 and that’s my longest streak.
How long are some other streaks here?

CLONE → OK, not a bad start, let’s add an A and two comcons
STEAL → Hit on the A, at least. Feel like I need to find the L, so I’ll do the Scoredle trick and try it twice
LADLE → Well, it worked, but I didn’t diversify my E positions, so that cost me too. ?AEL? doesn’t work well, but EA?L? does when I drag in that R I haven’t tried yet, so

I had 4 of the 5 letters after 2. I didn’t have the positions of any of them, but how many possible solutions could there be, right?
Yeah, right. Early, feral, lager, lamer, relax, relay, haler, paler that I saw and hadn’t been used, regal and layer that I saw and had been used, and abler and ravel (as in unravel) that I didn’t see. So I took a stab at the 3, missed, and settled for the 4.
