MUSTY → This start really threw me. I wanted to try an E and comcons and couldn’t think of a word with two of the latter - and ended up doubling up on a letter I already knew wasn’t there with
SETUP → Which was a bad play but serendipitous, as it placed the U and got me the unplaced P. When I couldn’t think of a word with S in 2nd, I tried it at the last, thought P??US, saw PRIUS and the (misspelled) PORUS which led me directly to
PIOUS
Scoredle gets there in 4 from my start, via a couple of really random words. After a rough couple of 5s, I’m happy with a three here.

After SPINY, I endlessly played with letter combinations. PIOUS was the only thing that finally worked. WordleBot said there was another word it could have been, POLIS, but I’m not even familiar with that one. Thankfully!
